Benefits Of A Learnership for Employers

Benefits of a learnership for employers are many.  A learnership not only benefits the employee and learner but also training providers.   SETA funding gives the training provider funds needed for learnership program.   At Action, we ensure that learners receive practical, hands-on experience by putting what is learned into practice – improving the quality of learnership.  Training leads to a nationally recognized qualification.  We network with employers on an ongoing basis to build a healthy relationship with businesses.  The Department of Labour assists us with recruitment and selection of learners that will enter into a learnership program.

  • Cash grant that will be provided to employer by their SETA

Action will be able to assist with the learnership grant process.  If you as an employee are eligible for a learnership grant, you will receive the learnership grant.  These grants are discretionary and will only be paid if there is enough funds available. 

Tax incentives

An employer also qualifies for tax incentives if learnership agreement is registered with a SETA.  Employers will receive two tax incentives: one at the start and one at completion of training.  Employers should consult a SARS representative or go to their website or their SETAs for more information on tax incentives.
