Students with Special Needs Computer Skills

Students with special needs and disabilities experience highest unemployment and abuse in South Africa. There is an air of sympathy for students with special needs and disabilities but no assistance given. This group is often neglected and isolated.

Many aren’t educated about inclusive education and computer training. The needs of learners with disabilities are just not being met at all. We forget that there is a law surrounding people with disabilities. Children have a right to a free and fair education, without discrimination. At Action, we provide a non-restrictive environment in our classroom, so that the learners are comfortable and feel part of something greater.

Inclusion works when training centers get the support needed. We believe in our learners and we hope that the community will see the value of these exceptional individuals. Inclusion involves carefully assessing the learners needs and implementing a program that will support them in a safe environment. We have accommodations in place at our Roodepoort training center such as desks, computer workstations, experienced trainers and so much more. Don’t just take our word for it, come and see for yourself.

Empathy cannot be measured quantitatively. When a person has a disability, they grow up learning that they are different and this thinking attaches right through adulthood. It is therefore important that we work with these members of society and include them as capable learners if they are to survive. learners with disabilities can achieve anything if give a kick start in life. Action offers advanced computer skills as well as call center training. We see the talents and gifts that these learners have and we want the community to see it too.
