Teaching Students Who Are Blind With Success

Teaching students who are blind is a pleasure for us at Action 4 the blind and disabled students. It is our main priority to ensure that our students have equal opportunities to access all learning materials needed and advance in learning with us.

We at Action are aware that modifications and accommodations are vital for blind and disabled students.  With the correct visual aids and assistive technology we are able to create a safe and happy learning environment. Our teachers who are visually impaired themselves, are aware of the importance of clear explanations and ensure that all students understand what is being taught.

Our classes include visual cues and assignments and handouts come with oral instructions. It is imperative that all our students have a pleasant and fruitful experience within our training center.

We have made changes to our classrooms to accommodate the blind and disabled.  We at Action want our students to succeed in their training and that is why we ensure a comfortable and safe environment.  We are aware of distractions such as lights and glares, so we ensure that our students are seated in a way that removes all these distractions.

Our training center is spacious with ample space between desks to walk around without bumping into objects.  We provide simple and effective types of assistive technology training for our students who are blind so that they can have access to printed materials and be capable of completing written tasks.

Our training centers are modified with state of the art assistive technology which includes screens that can be magnified by enlargement of font size or by using magnification software.

The success of our students mainly depends on:

  • Students attitude toward their disability
  • Special adaptations
  • Cost and available supportive teachers that know how to use equipment

Teaching students who are blind is our passion and we believe that this overlooked group of individuals are capable of becoming successful with anything they are given.
