We are Obligated to Empower People with Disabilities

We are obligated as an NGO to empower people with disabilities and help encourage equal treatment for these individuals in society. We cannot turn a blind eye to people with disabilities and their isolation from the community.

“Disability is a matter of perception. If you can do just one thing ell, you’re needed by someone.” – Martina Navratilova

If you do not have disabilities, you probably have never given thought to the financial, emotional and psychological impact of not being able to do things that able bodied people do daily. You have a healthy and whole body and may not consider how difficult it is when one is discriminated against when they have a disability.

Now is the time to take a step back and look in the mirror and ask yourself what you would feel like if it were you?

Imagine living life wheelchair bound and trying to get off a pavement or enter a building that has no wheelchair access. These things are very disempowering for a person in a wheelchair and often things we take for granted. It makes a person with a disability question their worth.

Non-profit organizations like Action 4 the Blind and Disabled are dedicated to helping people with disabilities. These people were shunned or pushed away in their communities and we have made a stand against this discrimination through education and training.

Will you join us and contribute towards empowering all people with disabilities?
